Limerick Photography, Autism-Friendly Sessions & What's Coming Up

Happy Thursday!

I can't believe it's nearly the weekend again!

I was in Arthur's Quay, Limerick last weekend, and it was so lovely to see lots of returning families, as well as plenty of new faces. It was such a great day, and I came home feeling very grateful for what I get to do for a living.

I love what I do.

Honestly, if I had a euro for every time someone said, “You're so patient with the kids!”… well, I'd be very rich by now! 😂

But I'd still be working — because I absolutely love my job.

I love working with children. I love photography. I love watching their little personalities come out during a session, and I love creating beautiful photographs that families can keep forever.

I really, really love my job.

Making photography more autism-friendly

Last week I also completed a brilliant course on autism awareness and making my photography business more welcoming and accessible for autistic children and families.

It was genuinely eye-opening, and I was delighted to gain that extra knowledge and understanding. My hope is that I can use what I've learned to make photography sessions more comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable for autistic children.

And then, almost immediately, I had the absolute pleasure of putting some of that understanding into practice.

I photographed a beautiful little girl, and we captured some incredibly gorgeous photographs of her. I was genuinely tearing up looking at them, and here is what her sister had to say to Google (Thank you so much Caitlin!)

That gave me absolute goosebumps.

Moments like that are exactly why I love what I do. ❤️

To be able to give a family photographs of their child that they genuinely never thought they'd be able to have is incredibly special, and I'm so, so delighted that we were able to do it together.
