Back in Thurles – Almost Two Years Later!

What a lovely weekend!

After almost two years away, I finally made my return to Thurles Shopping Centre last weekend, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a nicer welcome.

It was so lovely to see familiar faces, meet lots of new families, and get back to doing what I love most – capturing beautiful memories of your little ones.

And can I just say, the Google reviews that have been coming in since the weekend have been absolutely wonderful! I've been reading every single one, and I'm genuinely so grateful to everyone who has taken the time to leave such kind words. It really does mean the world to a small business like mine.

A little trip down memory lane...

It's hard to believe that it's been nearly two years since my last visit to Thurles.

My last photography weekend there in 2024 ended rather unexpectedly.

Just hours after packing up and heading home on the Sunday evening, I found myself in University Hospital Limerick with a partially detached retina.

By Monday, I was undergoing emergency eye surgery to save my sight. Not quite how I'd imagined the weekend ending!

Thankfully, with the incredible care of my eye surgeon, Dr Kennelly, my sight was saved, and I'm forever grateful for that.

In a lovely little twist of fate, we realised that it wasn't the first interaction we had - I had actually photographed his family some years before! It's funny how life comes full circle sometimes.

Since then, life has been a bit of a whirlwind.

Between recovering from surgery, family life, and watching my own little ones grow, I've taken a step back from the busy photography schedule I once had.

But returning to Thurles this weekend reminded me just how much I've missed it.

One of the things I've always loved most about Posie Photography is the people I meet along the way.

Some of you have been coming to me for years, and it's such a privilege to see your children growing up through the photographs I take.

To everyone who booked a session, stopped for a chat, recommended me to a friend, or left a lovely review – thank you, thank you, thank you!

You've made my return to Thurles feel incredibly special.

Here's to being back behind the camera, making more memories, and hopefully not leaving it another two years before my next visit!
